Work on each improvement shall be commenced upon approval of the contract by the WRA Board, and completed as stated below. Each bidder shall accompany its bid with bid security as defined in Section 26.8 of the Iowa Code and as specified by the Jurisdiction. By virtue of statutory authority, preference will be given to products and provisions grown and coal produced within the State of Iowa, and to Iowa domestic labor, to the extent lawfully required under Iowa statutes. The bidder should not include sales tax in the bid. A sales tax exemption certificate will be available for all material purchased for incorporation in the project. WRA Sewer Lining Phase 1, 07-2019-011 The improvement includes two divisions of work and a third division as an extended warranty. Division I work includes approximately 3,936 linear feet of sewer and is located from S.E. 1st Street parallel to the Raccoon River to just west of S.W. 9th Street. Division II work includes approximately 3,731 linear feet of sewer and continues to the west paralleling the Raccoon River from the begin point of Division I near S.W. 9th Street to the last sewer structure before the sewer alignment orientation changes north near S.W. 16th Street. Included work consists of trenchless sanitary sewer rehabilitation of existing 78-inch Reinforced Concrete Pipe (RCP), trenchless sanitary sewer structure rehabilitation, sewage bypass, sewer cleaning and debris disposal, visual inspection, replacement of aluminum hatches and sluice gates, traffic control, minor pavement repairs, surface restoration, and other incidental items; all in accordance with the contract documents, including Plan File Nos. 612-040/059, all in Des Moines, Iowa.
