Development of the Lower Yonge Precinct, recommending the following components; Harbour St; Conversion of Harbour St to two-way operations east of York St. Eastbout Bay St On-Ramp; Removal of the eastbound Bay St on-ramp to the Gardiner Expressway. Lower Jarvis Off-Ramp; Shortening of the Lower Jarvis off-ramp from the Gardiner Expressway to touch down at Yonge St. Harbour Street S-Curve; Normalization of the Yonge St/Harbour St and Yonge St/Lakeshore Blvd E intersections. Harbour St Extension; Extension of Harbour St east of Yonge St to connect with Lower Jarvis St, not including the design of the Harbour St extension, east of Yonge St. however, the design of the Yonge St/Harbour St intersection shall be developed to protect for the future extension of Harbour St, which will be designed and constructed by private landowners. Lake Shore Blvd E; Reconstruction of Lake Shore Blvd E to provide an addition eastbound traffic lane from Yonge St to Lower Jarvis St. New North South St; extension of a new north-south st between Cooper St and Lower Jarvis St that extends from Queens Quay East to Lake Shore Blvd Eastbound. Cooper St Extension; Extend Cooper St to connect with Church St north of the rail corridor. Given the impact of the Cooper St extension on private property this initiative has been identified as long-term. TIMELINE: The Civil Engineer completed the design for the approved recommendations identified in the Lower Yonge Precinct Schedule C Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (May 2018). City tenders will be followed individually at the tender stage. Development in the area will proceed via public development applications for the Lower Yonge Precinct which are submitted to the city of Toronto and reviewed by the Planning Department. Projects will be followed individually as they proceed. Coverage of this report is discontinued.
