The Procrastinator Theater is a student-run movie theater and an event space in the Strand Union Building. The technology in the room is quickly becoming out of date, and an upgrade is needed for the AV systems in the room. The projector in the room is fairly new, and the screen is fine for the space, but most of the other equipment needs to be replaced. This upgrade will encompass control system, audio, and video processing. In keeping the systems consistent throughout the building, a Crestron control system is required. The space is a medium-sized theater space. It has just under 200 seats in raked seating. At the front of the room, the projection screen is fixed to the wall, with space behind where speakers and an audio rack are located. There are closets located at the front of the room on either side of the screen. At the back of the theater is a projection booth. There is a rack space in the booth, and it also houses the projector. The space has an installed 7.1 Surround system installed with speakers in the ceiling and behind the screen. There is a curtain that opens and closes in front of the projection screen. A semi-permanent lectern is usually at the front of the space on the stage left side of the projection screen. This lectern is what the vast majority of presenters in the space use. The house lighting is controlled from four light switches near the front entrance of the room.
