**As of 11/13/2019 The project has no awards ,it was cancelled and plan to rebid soon . The works shall comprise: earthwork entailing excavation/movement of dirt/sand as well as soil erosion and sediment control; exterior improvements entailing top-soiling and finished grading as well as seeding, sodding and landscaping; and process interconnections entailing the piping using corrugated polyethylene. A bidder's bond or certified check in the amount of five percent (5%) of the amount bid shall accompany any bid in excess of $100,000.00 for the bid to be acceptable. Performance and Labor & Material Payment Bond amounting to one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price will be required of the successful bidder. This contract consists of the City of Newport News City Landfill No.2 (Denbigh Landfill) Cap Improvements Cells 1-3 construction plans and technical specifications as contained in the Construction Documents Project Manual and the Project Drawings. The attention of the bidder is invited to the provisions of Chapter 11 of Title 54.1 of the Code of Virginia regulating the practice of general contracting under which it will be necessary for the bidder to show evidence of certificate of registration as provided by said Code. The City of Newport News reserves the right to reject any or all bids.
