Renovation of a municipal facility in Charlotte, North Carolina. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 440,000-square-foot, 14-story above grade municipal facility.
On May 9, 2022, Charlotte City Council approved a contract with J.E. Dunn Construction for construction manager at risk for the construction phase of the HVAC Replacement project. The boiler replacement will be completed by early fourth quarter 2022. This Request for Qualifications (RFQ) is issued by the City of Charlotte (City) to acquire the services of a Construction Manager-at-Risk (CMR and/or Proposer) for the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Government Center HVAC Replacement Project (Project). The project involves replacing the HVAC system in the existing 14 story, nominally 440,000 square foot facility known as the Charlotte- Mecklenburg Government Center located at 600 E. 4th Street in Charlotte. The project has 9 phases with construction completion anticipated in third quarter of 2025. The building will remain open during construction and temporary mechanical systems will be required.
