Demolition, site work, paving and new construction of a civil project in Menallen Township, Pennsylvania. Completed plans call for the demolition of a bridge / tunnel; for the construction of a bridge / tunnel; for site work for a bridge / tunnel; and for paving for a bridge / tunnel.

This Project Consists of the Replacement of a Box Culvert Along Sr 0034-046, Including Minor Approach Work, Guide Rail Updates, and Other Miscellaneous Construction, All as Indicated on the Approved Drawings Included in the Bid Package for State Route 0034, Section 046, in Adams County, Menallen Township, From Segment 0240 Offset 2648 to Segment 0250 Offset 0126, for an Overall Project Length of 500.00 Linear Feet (0.095 Mile). Project Cost Range: $500,000.00 - $999,999.99 Federal Project Status: Non - Federal (100% State) Structure Work: 41.00% Pre-bid Meeting: None Anticipated Ntp: 04/28/2025 Wage Rates: Yes Required Completion: 11/06/2026 Prequalification Requirement: Yes Responses to questions on this page are for informational and clarification purposes. State Type of Work: Bridge Replacement PennDOT - Carlisle Road Bridge 4 *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document. This work is: Removal of organic matter within excavation areas and removal of the first 8 inches of topsoil and organic matter within embankment areas. Removal of organic matter such as all trees, stumps, brush, roots, and other vegetation within the limits of excavation and embankment areas, including ditches and channels. When indicated, perform tree trimming and selective tree removal outside of the limits of excavation and embankment areas as specified in Section 810. Removal of objectionable material, rubbish, and junk within the project limits. Removal of buildings and structures, fences, walls, guide rail posts, guide rails, signs, direction markers, and other obstructions interfering with the work that are not included in other contract items. Disposal of removed material. Salvaging, temporarily storing, and delivering of material. Obtaining of waste areas for disposal of material as specified in Section 105.14. Stockpiling of topsoil and topsoil mixture as specified in Section 801. Chipping and stockpiling wood waste material, if specified in the Special Provisions. The eTicketing system must be fully integrated with the load read-out system at the plant and capable of transmitting ticket information to the PennDOT eTicketing system. The system software and hardware must prevent alteration of the data inputs from the asphalt mixing plant's recording truck scale or recording weigh hopper, or the asphalt mixing plant's recording aggregate, asphalt, and other material scales. This work is the overexcavation below the bottom of the culvert bedding specified on the plans and backfilling below the bearing elevation with No. 57 coarse aggregate, No. 8 Coarse aggregate, or an approved equal, to provide a uniform surface of competent bearing material. This work is providing an eTicketing system for aggregate deliveries to an ECMS construction project, to report individual and cumulative loads of material delivered during the construction process. This work is either construction of the culvert as designed or designing and constructing an equivalent culvert of an alternate design in place of the "as-designed" culvert. - This work is the installation of "Warning - Do Not Spray or Mow" signs mounted on wooden stakes at the top of the bank of the relocated portion of the UNT to Opossum Creek. To discharge dredged and/or fill material into waters and/or wetlands associated with the replacement of State Route (SR) 0034 slab bridge with a 11' x 6' precast reinforced box culvert. Associated work includes the reconstruction of the approach roadway and shoulder, pavement overlay, stream realignment, guide rail upgrades, and scour protection. The project will permanently impact 22-linear-feet (132- square-feet) of stream (Stream Channel 1) and 33-square-feet of emergent wetlands (Wetland D); permanently relocate 342-linear-feet (2,736-square-feet) of stream (Stream Channel 2); temporarily impact 459-linear-feet of stream (462 ft 2 of Stream Channel 1 & 3,056 ft 2 of Stream Channel 2) and 10-square-feet of emergent wetlands (Wetland D).
