Notice is hereby given that the City Council of the City of Ames, Iowa, will meet at the Council Chambers in the City Hall, 515 Clark Avenue, Ames, Iowa, at 6:00 p.m. on October 8, 2019 at which time and place the City Council will hear objections to the proposed plans, specifications, and form of contract for said Water Pollution Control Facility Methane Engine Generator Replacement Project. City of Ames Contract No. 2020-017. This project is located at the Ames Water Pollution Control Facility (WPCF), 56797 280th Street, Ames, IA 50010. The project includes one new hot water boiler, two hot water pumps, hot water piping, digester gas piping, digester gas safety equipment, heating/ventilation improvements, electrical improvements, instrumentation and controls upgrades, and demolition of one methane engine generator and associated appurtenances. All bids shall be submitted to said City Clerk on or before the time set herein for the bid opening. Bids shall be made on the Proposal Form furnished by the City of Ames, in a sealed and plainly marked envelope indicating it is a bid in response to this notice. Each bid shall accompany its bid with bid security as defined in Code of Iowa Section 26.8 and as specified in the Instructions to Bidders. The City of Ames reserves the right to defer acceptance of any bid for a period not to exceed sixty (60) days after receipt of bids, and no bid may be withdrawn during this period. The City does hereby reserve the right to reject any or all bids, to waive informalities, and to enter into such contract, or contracts, as it shall deem to be in the best interest of the City
