Site work and new construction of a multi-residential development in Scarborough, Ontario. Completed plans call for the construction of a 30,000-square-foot, six-story above grade, 24-unit multi-residential development.
Construction of a six-storey, 24-bed building with commercial space on the ground floor and rooms and apartments above for women on probation or parole, as well as some who are on bail but have not been convicted of a crime. The proposed development consists of four bachelor, eight one-bedroom affordable homes and 12 dwelling rooms with shared facilities. It will provide restorative care, supportive housing and gathering spaces for cultural programming, including an outdoor sweat lodge. The 2nd and 3rd floors for women who are on: bail, parole or probation. These floors will be shared accommodation with separate bedrooms. The 4th, 5th, and 6th floors: fully independent units where women will pay subsidized rent. New landscaped areas include a rear yard with a ceremonial fire bowl and seating, five new street trees and a green roof. TIMELINE: Owner has pivoted to a modular build and is now working with a new builder. Construction is expected to begin September 2023. Completion is currently targeted August 2024.
