City of Lookout Mountain, Georgia (the City), is soliciting competitive sealed bids from qualified contractors for the construction and related work for a new City Hall and Fire Hall, including the furnishing of all labor, material, equipment, tools, supervision, incidentals, and any other items necessary or appropriate to satisfactorily complete the work. The address for the facilities to be constructed is 1214 Lula Lake Road, Lookout Mountain, Georgia 30750. Bids must be typed or submitted in ink using the form provided by the City and returned in a sealed container marked on the outside with Bid for City Hall Project or other identification of the project and the contractors company name. The City will require a Bid Bond in form and content satisfactory to the City. The City reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any irregularities in the bid. The contract will be awarded to the lowest and best responsible and responsive bidder whose bid meets the requirements established by the City and its architect; provided, however, that if the bid from the lowest and best responsible and responsive bidder exceeds the funds budgeted for the project, the City may negotiate with such apparent low bidder to obtain a contract price within the budgeted amount. Such negotiations may include changes in the scope of work and other bid requirements. The contract must be in form and content acceptable to the City and its attorney. The bidding contractor must be licensed in all appropriate classifications before the bid will be considered and must comply with all applicable codes, laws and regulations. Bidders must comply with all requirements of Georgia law, including but not limited to those set forth in O.C.G.A Title 36, Chapter 91. The successful bidder will be required to furnish acceptable Performance and Payment Bonds in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price.
