The proposed facility will be located on a portion of a 7-acre site. Site development will include the normal and customary elements including; parking & drives, utilities and landscaping. F. Construction Contract: Bids will be received for the following Work: 1. General Contract (all trades). Clay County is seeking a lump sum bid from qualified contractors to construct an approximate 62,625 sq. ft. office and administrative building at the Southeast corner of Hwy 152 and North Brighton Avenue in Kansas City, Missouri. All bids must be labeled with the IFB Number, IFB Title and Return Due Date on the lower left-hand corner of the envelope or package. Your bid must consist of all pages of the Bid Form including the signature page of the bid, signed by an authorized representative of your firm, bid security in the amount of 5% of the base bid amount, and all other required documentation. Each bidder must furnish all information required by the bid documents and must complete all sections requiring information or a signature. Non-conformance with these instructions and the Instruction to Bidders is grounds for rejection of your bid. The successful bidder will furnish a performance and payment bond in accordance with 37.12 of the Clay County, MO Code of Ordinances, in the amount of 110% of the contract amount that is issued by a surety licensed to do business in the state of Missouri with a A.M. Best rating of at least A. This is a sales tax exempt project. The County will provide contractor with a tax exempt certificate which may be used in purchasing materials to be used on this project. This exemption applies to all tangible personal property materials which will be incorporated into or consumed during the course of the work. It does not apply to the purchase of construction machinery, equipment or tools. This is a prevailing wages project. The contractor (and all subcontractors) must comply with Missouri's prevailing wages law and must pay not less that the prevailing wage hourly rate of wages for work of a similar character in the locality in which the work is performed, as determined by the Missouri Department of Labor and Industrial Relations and in accordance with the applicable Wage Order. Bidder shall submit with its bid a fully completed and signed AIA Document A305 - Contractor's Qualification Statement, including all attachments. All questions related to this Invitation to Bid should be submitted before and no later than 2:00 PM Tuesday, July 7, and should be directed by email to Purchasing@ClayCountyMo.gov.
