The City of Manhattan, Kansas is now requesting bids for Project No. SM1708: The demolition and removal of 1 Residential Structure at 155 Bethany Drive. This scope of work includes demolition of a residential structure, disconnection of utilities, and site preparation for turf establishment. Selected Contractor must be registered in portal before award of contract. All persons awarded and/or entering into contracts with the City of Manhattan shall be subject to and required to comply with all applicable City, State, and Federal provisions pertaining to non-discrimination, Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action. Work shall be performed in accordance with all the City of Manhattan building codes (including obtaining a permit). The contractor must provide a certificate of liability insurance. Per FEMA, Davis Bacon Act wage rates do not apply to this project. Contractors must supply their DUNS number on the Bid Proposal and the Contractor with the Apparent Low Bid must be registered in the federal System for Award Management portal before Bid will be awarded. Contractor shall take ownership of, and may keep or dispose of salvageable items. Due to asbestos discovered in the building materials, all demolition debris, including concrete, must go to a to construction and demolition (C & D) landfill. No materials may be recycled. Concrete related to sidewalks and driveways does not need to follow this requirement. A copy of the waste ticket must be returned to the City for confirmation. If the A/C unit is still on site, the Contractor will capture and properly dispose of A/C refrigerant. The City requires all mature trees to be left in place. The City will work with the contractor to remove any limbs that may cause issues with the project. The work described in this scope of work must be completed by December 8th, 2019. Seeding will be the responsibility of the Owner (City). Bidder understands that the OWNER reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any informality in the bidding. The bidder agrees that this bid shall be good and may not be withdrawn for a period of thirty (30) calendar days after the scheduled closing time for receiving bids.
