Renovation of a mixed-use development in Salisbury, North Carolina. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility; and retail development.
Bids will be received for Single-Prime. All proposals shall be lump sum. The extent of the work is shown on the drawings and specified in the project manual. Base bids must be submitted in a sealed envelope and plainly labeled on the outer most package "Rowan County - West End Plaza Agricultural Center Renovations BASE BID". Alternate bids must also be submitted in a sealed envelope and plainly labeled on the outer most package "Rowan County - West End Plaza Agricultural Center Renovations ALTERNATES BID". The inside and outside packages for each bid shall include the Contractor's License Number. No responsibility shall be attached to Rowan County (the County) for the premature opening of any bid not properly addressed or identified. Questions about the specifications and/or bid documents should be addressed to the ADW representative (Jonathan Koricke, R.A., jkoricke@adwarchitects.com, 704.749.5588) or to the Rowan County Purchasing Director. Any questions must be submitted, at the latest, seven days prior to Bids Due day (i.e. by Dec. 29, 2:00 p.m.) Each proposal must be accompanied by a cashier's check issued by or a certified check drawn on a bank of trust company insured by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation payable to Rowan County in an amount of five percent (5%) of the gross amount of the proposal or by a bond in the above amount executed in accordance with and conditioned as prescribed by G.S. 143-129, State of North Carolina. If the successful bidder fails to give satisfactory surety as required by law, the Owner will retain the above deposit. All contractors are hereby notified that they shall be properly licensed under the state laws governing their trades General Contractor to include Performance Bond and Payment Bond for 100% of Contract Amount in the base bid. All bidders are hereby notified that they shall be properly qualified under the state laws governing their respective trades. Contractors must be licensed for work in the state of the project's jurisdiction. This project is being funded by the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA). Rowan County reserves the right to reject all bids, to waive informalities and technicalities, and to cancel the Bid Process at any time. Alternates: 3:00 p.m. on January 5, 2023 Project Location: 1935 Jake Alexander Blvd. W, Salisbury, NC 28147 Located in the West End Plaza mall, the project will renovate a portion of the original Belk's Building on the west end of the mall, plus a portion of former tenant spaces on the south side of the mall concourse. The Belk's portion will be converted to large meeting rooms with associated conference rooms, with support spaces such as toilet rooms, storage, service, mechanical, and kitchen spaces. The tenant spaces will be converted to various County and Federal offices. In addition, there are several Alternates that mainly relate to exterior and site improvements. JOB# 204801.000
