The University intends to select a single firm for this project. The selected firm and its consulting team must demonstrate expertise in clinical research facilities planning particularly in an academic medical setting. Master Planning services include but are not limited to the following: Facilities Assessment: Under the direction of Facilities Planning, work with University staff to investigate, assess and define the condition of all existing clinical research spaces in UCDH for clinical research needs, anticipated grant funded research, cutting edge science and related activities. Space Program: Work with University leadership, under the direction of Facilities Planning, to develop a space program, by department, for current and future clinical research facilities, including analysis and guidance pertaining to best practice operations, workflows, processes, adjacency to clinical operations, and related departments. Work with user departments and UCDH leadership, UCDH strategic goals, market data and operational projections to create a plan for location and scale of clinical research clinics serving the community and UCDH. Excluded are basic science research facilities currently located in Davis. Scenario Development: Develop specific scenarios with more detailed studies including planning principles, space diagrams, block plans, location alternatives (e.g. within outpatient clinical operations or separate translational science facility), best practice operations recommendations and cost estimates for potential current and future projects. Scenarios will include ways to maximize efficiency of clinical research facilities in order to best serve patients, accommodate growth and meet UC Davis Health's strategic priorities. The method of contractor selection has not been determined at this time.
