This project involves a base bid for the demolition, removal, and disposal of an existing bridge and the acquisition and installation of a new pre-fabricated vehicle/pedestrian bridge, along with the reconstruction of Maple Beach Road, at the specified location in Bristol Borough in accordance with all Borough, State, and Federal standards. Any incidental landscaping, substructure investigation and modifications, repair of lawn and landscape damages, other damages, and traffic control that is needed must be covered by the contractor in the bid price as incidental to the project. A nominal fee of 0.33% of the bid amount (up to $5,000) is assessed only to bidders who are awarded contracts. For bidders who are not the winning bid; there are absolutely no fees. Each bid shall be submitted in accordance with Article 15 of Document 00 21 13 Instructions to Bidders and Document 00 21 13.1 Instructions Submitting Electronic Bids, including but not limited to a Bid Bond or Certified Check for not less than ten percent (10%) of the Bid amount payable to the Borough of Bristol and proof of insurance in accordance with Paragraph 1.10 of Document 00 73 00 Supplementary Conditions. The successful Bidder shall be required to furnish performance bond for 100% of the amount of the contract, payment bond for 100% of the amount of the contract, and maintenance bond in such form as meets the approval of the Borough of Bristol and having as security thereon such Surety company or companies as are approved by the Borough of Bristol. This project is subject to applicable provisions of Act 422, Pennsylvania Prevailing Wage Act, as amended, and the prevailing minimum wage rates issued by the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry for work valued at over Twenty-Five Thousand Dollars ($25,000). The project is subject to applicable requirements of the Borough's Responsible Contractor Ordinance for work valued at over Seventy-Five Thousand Dollars ($75,000). No Bidder may withdraw his bid within sixty (60) days after the date set for the opening of the bids.
