New construction of a library in Masset, British Columbia. Working plans call for the construction of a 3,870-square-foot, one-story above grade library.
Construction of a new library facility. The library building will be designed and detailed to allow for conventional site-built construction or modular off-site fabrication combined with site-built construction. It will utilize a scalable design prototype model that can be;replicated in other rural communities and may be scaled up or down depending on a community's size and service needs. The new library will feature a Haida language immersion lab dedicated to the sharing and preserving of the local Indigenous language. The library will feature timber beams and vertical cedar siding honoring Haida culture. TIMELINE: Building permits have been issued. Subtrades contractors are being sought by the Construction Manager.. Construction timelines will be confirmed in early, 2025. *Project has been estimated at 4.2 million.
