The City of St. Albert is requesting proposals from qualified, licensed and professional contractors to prepare and submit a design-build package for the Woodlands Skatepark Redevelopment. The successful contractor will have proven experience in skatepark design and construction. The intent of the proposal is to engage a full-service firm to provide detailed design and subsequently, to perform construction services for the above noted project. Project Scope The removal, design and replacement of the Woodlands Skatepark facility at the same site location Leading and participating in the stakeholder engagement of existing users to try to best accommodate ideas for the existing site for optimal design (for all skill levels and use types) and enhanced feature layout Landscaping design to provide shade and enhance the area for users. Shade elements could also be incorporated within the skateable area as a specific design feature element Lighting revisions as needed to accommodate the new design of the site and provide LED fixtures with programmable timing features Design of shade structures for users Incorporate existing structures such as skateboard repair station and washroom facilities into the new design In keeping with a pre-set project budget, and available space at the existing location, the maximum footprint size shall not exceed 16,000 square feet.
