New construction of a bridge / tunnel in Richmond Hill, Ontario. Conceptual plans call for the construction of a bridge / tunnel.
Railway Grade Separation to Elgin Mills Road (YR49) from Yonge South (YR1) to Bayview Avenue (YR34). TIMELINE: HDR Corporation has been contracted to complete the Class C Environmental Assessment Study. The study is expected to continue through to the end of 2024. Preferred solution is a new structure. Open house #2 occurred March 11-April 1, 2024 at which time information about the study process, findings to date, design options and the recommended design to separate the road and train tracks was made available for viewing and comment. Construction is not expected before 2026. Updates may be available spring 2025.
