This tender is to upgrade the existing intersection of Wellington Street and First Avenue to a roundabout to increase safety and improve traffic flow. The Consultant Terms of Reference (TOR) defines the scope of work required from the Consultant for professional engineering services for the preparation of detailed designs, specifications, tendering and contract administration for the provision of a redesigned intersection configuration, new storm water management infrastructure and road reconstruction on Wellington Street, between Second and First Avenues as well the extent of First Avenue from the boundary of MTO right-of-way (Highway 72) to Wellington Street. The project includes: • Redesigned intersection resulting from a Traffic Impact Study (TIS) to facilitate safe vehicular traffic movement through the intersection; • Installation of approximately 200 metres of new storm water sewer main and storm water catchment appurtenances; • Complete road re-construction, including curb & gutter and sidewalks; • Pedestrian cross-over to facilitate safe pedestrian movements across Wellington Street to access the recreational trail system to the south.
