An architect and construction manager at risk have been selected. As of January 18, 2022 phase one work is underway and the CMAR is currently bidding phase two. *The CMAR is Western Builders of Amarillo *The closed solicitation has been included below for reference: The Academic Sciences Building will be a 3-story structure that will be located in the General Academic Core of the campus within the Historic District Zone. The new buildings will be adjacent to the original Chemistry Building and the Science Building and should be designed to match the historic Spanish Renaissance style of the original Chemistry Building. Preliminary programming of the addition indicates two buildings with a total of approximately 162,500 GSF and will provide new offices, conference rooms, classrooms, teaching class labs and a limited amount of research space for a total of 5 departments including Physics, Geosciences, Psychological Sciences, Biological Sciences and Chemistry.
