The bidder must also submit with their proposal a satisfactory certified or cashier's check certified by a responsible bank, cash, or bidder's bond on the City's bond form in favor of the City of Westminster, executed by an admitted surety insurer authorized to issue such bonds in the State of California and secured through an authorized agent with an office in California, subject to approval of the City Attorney, in an amount equal to at least 10% of the amount bid. In accordance with the Labor Code, no worker employed upon work under contract to the City shall be paid less than the above referenced prevailing wage rate. Any classification omitted therein shall be paid not less than the prevailing wage scale as established for similar work in the particular area. Sunday and holiday time shall be paid at the wage rates determined by the Director of Industrial Relations. In addition, bidders are hereby notified that pursuant to Section 1777.1 of the Labor Code, Contractors who are ineligible to bid or work on a Public Works project as determined by the Labor Commissioner, are prohibited to act as a subcontractor; prohibited to employ an ineligible subcontractor; and prohibited to submit a bid on this project.
