Development of approximately 50 km of fibre optic cable along the Slocan Valley Rail Trail in southeast British Columbia. This is a segment of the Slocan Valley Fibre Optic Backbone Project (involving installation of approximately 125 km of fibre optic infrastructure to service the region between Shoreholme, just north of Nakusp, and the Playmor Junction). TIMELINE: Last-Mile Build-Out (2025–2027): Work is currently underway to connect individual homes and businesses to this backbone.
