Paving and renovation of a mixed-use development in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.

MAPS 4 will provide $96.5 million to transform the environment in neighborhoods across the city by providing major funding for sidewalks, bike lanes, trails and streetlights. First, $61.5 million is for the construction of sidewalks, sidewalk amenities and placemaking. The amenities potentially include trees, sustainable infrastructure, landscaping, drainage and public art, prioritizing the Pedestrian Priority Areas and schools identified by the bikewalkokc plan, as well as other districts and community assets, including the Clara Luper Corridor, Capitol Hill, Stockyards, Windsor District, Old Britton, and MAPS youth and senior wellness centers. Another $22 million is for the construction of bicycle lanes and related bicycle facilities, taking into consideration the guidance of the bikewalkokc plan. Another $9 million is for trail connectivity to Lake Stanley Draper and the Oklahoma River in south Oklahoma City, as well as trail amenities potentially including bathrooms, fountains and signage throughout the Oklahoma City trail system. Finally, $4 million is for the placement of 1,000 new streetlights in areas that lack them. As of July 30, 2024, the Oklahoma City’s City Council approved the MAPS 4 Implementation Plan on September 14, 2021. MAPS 4 is not a bond program. It is a cash program. The schedule which determines the timing of each of the 16 areas of projects has not been developed. The owner is in the process of hiring professionals to help with that process. Bidding for designers, contractors has not been established. The program is an 8-year collection period therefore this project may not begin for eight years.
