Site work, renovation and addition to a mixed-use development in Burnaby, British Columbia. Completed plans call for the addition of a one-story above grade educational facility; and for the renovation of a educational facility.
The Board of Education of School District No.41 (Burnaby) invites proposals from experienced Construction Management Firms to work with its team on the seismic upgrade and addition of Brentwood Park Elementary School. Included is a Neighbourhood Learning Centre (NLC) with expanded gym, and childcare space. In general, the Scope of Work consists of: - Seismic upgrade of existing school including the structural strengthening of all three blocks and seismic upgrade of the Operational and Functional Components (OFCs). - Fire wall and new sprinkler system in existing building. - Addition of 2 kindergarten rooms, 5 classrooms, gymnasium, and other spaces identified. - NLC areas including expanded gym, before and after school care and admin areas. - Reconfiguration of field and backstops to suit. - Reconfiguration of parking at main entry and new access into parking lot. - Reconfiguration of laneway curbs and additional drop-off stalls. - New parking lot and drop off lot along Delta Avenue. - New Sidewalks along Delta Avenue and upgrade to curbs and drop-off at FDK modulars and day care building portable. - City of Burnaby required off-site crosswalk with flashing light c/e new curb bulge at crosswalk.
