Joice Public Library / City Hall and Community Building. Proposals will be acted upon by the City of Joice Board of Directors immediately following the closing of the public hearing at a scheduled board meeting on February 11th, 2020, in the Bethany Lutheran Church at 201 Franke Street, Joice, Iowa 50446, or at such later time and place as may then be fixed. The Contractor and all Subcontractors shall not discriminate against any employee or applicant for employment because of race, religion, color, sex, national origin or age. The Contractor shall take affirmative action to ensure that applicants are employed, and that employees are treated during employment without regard to their race, religion, color, sex, national origin or age. Such action shall include, but not be limited to the following; employment, upgrading, demotion or transfer; recruitment or recruitment advertising; layoff or termination; rates of pay or other forms of compensation; and selection for training, including apprenticeship. The Contractor agrees to post in conspicuous places, available to employees and applicants for employment, notices setting forth the policies of non-discrimination. The City of Joice reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive technicalities and irregularities. The work of this Contract comprises of the General, Mechanical (HVAC & PLBG), and Electrical Construction of the "City of Joice - Joice Public Library/City Hall and Community Building", and related remodeling work.
