Site work, paving and renovation of a bridge / tunnel in Stockton, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a bridge / tunnel; for site work for a bridge / tunnel; and for paving for a bridge / tunnel.

The work to be performed consists of furnishing all labor, materials, tools, transportation, supplies, equipment, appurtenances, fuel, and power, unless specifically excepted, necessary, or required to provide complete bridge repairs, as further delineated on the plans and described in these Special Provisions. The work shall include, but not be limited to, the following: 1. Construct temporary fencing, construction area signs and pedestrian controls. 2. Construct erosion control measures. 3. Constructing temporary shoring systems to be designed and detailed by the Contractor. 4. Construct steel beam joint and guard railing repairs and modifications. 5. Construct concrete repairs at beam pilaster supports and guard rail bases. 6. Reconstruct bridge deck expansion joints. 7. Prepare and paint all steel beam and guard railing surfaces. 8. Adherence to jurisdictional permit requirements and conditions of approval. Each bid shall be presented under sealed cover and shall be accompanied by the Bidder's Guaranty, Non-Collusion Declaration, and all of the required documents and information. Each bidder shall be licensed in accordance with applicable State laws. The City of Stockton encourages local Stockton firms to bid this project and the City encourages bidders to use local Stockton firms as subcontractors. Accordingly, the Local Business Preference Ordinance applies to this project. This project is subject to the requirements of the City's Local Employment Ordinance. Please see the website noted above for further information. A bid received after the specified time shall not be accepted and will be returned to the bidder. Bidders are hereby notified that the successful bidder and any subcontractor under them shall pay prevailing wage rates in accordance with the State of California Department of Industrial Relations. A contract will be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder as defined in the Stockton Municipal Code; provided, however, that the City Council reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to re-advertise for bids or to provide for the work to be done by the City of Stockton. The successful bidder shall be required to furnish a Labor and Material Bond and a Faithful Performance Bond, each in the sum of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price. Said bonds shall be furnished by a company authorized to issue surety bonds in the State of California. On official forms furnished by City, said bonds shall be executed by the surety and contractor before or concurrently with the signing of the contract.
