Site work and new construction of an educational facility in Wilmington, North Carolina. Completed plans call for the construction of a 15,000-square-foot educational facility.
UNCW plans to construct a new single story conventional framed building with brick masonry cladding in accordance with UNCW Architectural standards. The building will provide approximately 16,000 square feet of space to be utilized as teaching laboratories, associated instructional space and offices for the new Coastal Engineering program. The proposed project will provide for the new construction of the Coastal Engineering Building containing; faculty offices, classrooms, conference room, faculty and student Labs, wave flume research Lab, and support spaces. The building will be a steel framed structure of type IIB Construction with a Business Occupancy. Exterior materials will be brick veneer and sloped shingled roof according to campus design standards.
