Site work and new construction of a fire / police facility in Niles, Illinois. Completed plans call for the construction of a fire / police facility; and for site work for a fire / police facility.
Project Description: The Village is planning to build a new Fire Station #2 at the Southeast corner of Cumberland and Dempster Street. This New Fire Station #2 will be fully staffed and is expected to be approximately 25,000 square feet. Attached to this RFP as Schedule 3.4 Exhibit D is the New Fire Station #2 Design Inspiration prepared for the Village of Niles Community Development Department. The Village has tentatively determined that the New Fire Station #2 will include, but not be limited to, the following features: o A five (5) bay garage. o Four (4) of the five (5) bays will accommodate end-to-end vehicle parking. All bays will be 15' wide clearance. o Bi-fold bay doors. o Sleeping quarters for eleven (11). o Locker Room. o Fitness room with open air option. o Conference room. o Training room. o Records room. o Kitchen and day room for twelve (12) individuals. o Administrative offices (Chief, Deputy Chief, District Chief, Lieutenant, Firefighter computer room, assignment and investigation). o Server room with dedicated HVAC. o Hose Tower/Training Tower. o Drafting pit. o Self Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA)/Compressor room. o Battery room. o Communications room (possibly on the apparatus bay) o Dedicated Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) storage room off apparatus bay. o Dedicated decontamination room off apparatus bay. o Dedicated medical supply room off apparatus bay. o Dedicated laundry room off apparatus bay. o Dedicated shop. o Parking for 30 vehicles. o Museum for Blue-boy and 1941 Pirsch. o EV charging station. In addition to the items referenced below relating to the design and construction of Fire Station #2, the project also includes site planning, design and construction for a training facility building on the site with approximate dimensions of 25'L x 22'W x 40'H. Lastly, the project also includes preparing a detailed site plan and analysis related to a new location for the cell tower that exists at the current site. The General Contractor must have a current contractor's license/registration with the Village of Niles. If your firm is selected for Phase 2, and approved by the Village of Niles Board of Trustees, a bid deposit may be required, the amount of which shall be fixed by the Purchasing Manager but which shall not exceed five percent (5%) of the estimated cost of the work or material to be furnished, nor be less than the sum of twenty five dollars ($25.00) All questions regarding the RFP should be sent to Susan Bus, Purchasing Agent @ slb@vniles.com. Any and all questions pertaining to this RFP must be submitted in writing and must be submitted on or before 4:00 p.m. (CST), Monday, February 10, 2025. All questions and responses will be emailed to all the firms who downloaded the RFP and will be posted on the Village's website by Wednesday, February 12, 2025, by 5:00 p.m. (CST).
