Renovation of a municipal facility in Welland, Ontario. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.
The City of Welland is seeking a general contractor to undertake the removal and replacement of the ducting on the roof of the courthouse as well as hire a roofing sub-contractor to perform the roofing replacement. The proponent will have the responsibility replacement of the Welland Courthouse roof with new two (2) ply membrane roof installed to the specification attached. Ducting for roof top unit to have insulation stripped, ducts removed and stored, and temporary ducts installed to provide heating/cooling to building during repair. New insulation to be installed on ducting after reinstatement of roof and ducts. We have strict disturbance rules to follow with timing of this project. All work that will be high noise creating or that could cause disruption to the Court Practise will be undertaken on weekends or after hours. The project shall commence April 1st for site set up. This includes access stair set and bin placement as well as material deliveries. All site preparation and set up to be ready for the open week scheduled between May 1-10th. If duct insulation can be stripped without causing major disturbance this can take place prior to that week but court will have the right to stop work at any time that is causing disturbance to court practice outside of the designated week. Once ducts are stripped, the weekend before the week of down time, the ducts can be removed and placed on the lower roof and temporary ducts installed. This would provide the full week to remove the old roof and replace, as well as reinstall the ducts. The insulation of ducts can take place during regular hours as long as it does not cause a disturbance to the court practice. There is an attached drawing set and specification outlining all aspects of the job. Refer to Section 4 Specifications and Requirements, contract administration, site review, substantial completion, commissioning (if applicable), total completion and warranty review for the work.
