The purpose of this Invitation for Bid (IFB) is to solicit bids to enter into a contract with a qualified general contractor to replace the ceiling with acoustical ceiling tiles and provide new LED light fixtures in the offices. Modify the HVAC system. Provide hot water supply and return piping. Provide new VAV units, grilles, diffusers and sensors for Utah Valley University. After reviewing the submitted bids, the University may choose not to proceed with the procurement. All questions, inquiries, or requests for information, clarification, or interpretation arising subsequent to the issuance of this IFB shall be submitted in writing through electronically. Answers will be given via electronically. Questions submitted by e-mail, phone, or other method will not be considered. All questions must be received by 7:00 a.m. on February 21, 2020. Questions asked after this deadline will not be answered. Procurement Services will extend the due date if such information significantly amends this solicitation or makes compliance with the original due date impractical. All proposals shall remain valid for a minimum of ninety (90) calendar days after the Bid Due Date to allow adequate time for evaluation. An electronic copy of a bid bond in the amount of 5% of the total proposed cost must be uploaded electronically and submitted with the proposal. Please use the form provided. The offeror shall include in the proposal, as part of the quoted total, all costs involved in securing and furnishing the following bonds based on the completed cost of the contract. These bonds must be provided by the awarded offeror prior to the commencement of work. Failure by the awarded offeror to provide the required bonds in a timely manner, as determined by the University, will result in the contract being canceled. A. A full 100% Performance Bond covering the faithful execution of the contract. B. A full 100% Payment Bond covering all obligations arising thereunder. Contract duration: 1 year This project will be done in two phases. Phase 1: Level 5 - Offices: 505F, 505G & 505H Substantial Completion Phase 1: Friday, May 1, 2020 *Note: UVU Spring Break March 16-20, 2020 - can work all hours this week Phase 2: Levels 3 & 4 - Offices: 305B, 305C, 305D, 307B, 307C, 307D, 307F, 405B, 405C, 405D, 405F, 405G, 405H, 405J, 401D & 401F Begin Phase 2 after spring semester graduation: May 11, 2020 Substantial Completion Phase 2: June 26, 2020 (end of Summer Semester Block A)
