Site work and paving for a civil project in Chard, Alberta. Working plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel; for paving for a bridge / tunnel; road / highway; and road / highway.
Rural Egress Road Anzac: The proposed road will be 8 meters wide, 30meters right-of-way, 60 kilometers/hour design speed, gravel surface and 3.4 kilometers long between Cheecham Drive and Long Lake Access Road; will cross wetlands where 50 meters right-of-way is required. The preferred alignment passes through municipal property and other public lands. During the design stage, road right-of-way must be registered. Janvier: Alignment uses an existing First Nations road, passes through Janvier reserve land and Crown land. Therefore, road right-of-way must be registered during the design stage. The preliminary design of the proposed alignment will be part of the scope. The preferred proposed alignment (alignment 6) would require a bridge crossing on Christina River and the other two potential watercourse crossings. Tree clearing is required along the proposed alignment to perform survey and geotechnical investigation. TIMELINE: Project has been paused. Tender and construction to be determined. Further update may be available in 2026. Estimated costs: Janvier Rural Egress Rd. - approx. $25M. Anzac Rural Egress Rd. $10M.
