Site work for a civil project in Vernon, British Columbia. Conceptual plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
Construction of the Greater Vernon Diversion and Disposal Facility (GVDDF) Leachate Storage Pond. This diversion and disposal facility is the Regional District of North Okanagan's primary and soon to be the central landfill currently receiving just over 31,000 tonnes annually with a life estimate of 50 years. The area below the existing leachate storage pond at the GVDDF appears to be the most suitable based on limited current knowledge. One primary objective is to rule out all other viable locations for a long term leachate storage pond based on criteria such as cost, environmental protection, construction access, aesthetics, etc. These criteria must be confirmed prior to project startup. The entire pond construction project will be completed in phases: preliminary design; final design and tendering; and construction. TIMELINE: Plans are complete. Report will be updated if/when project is approved to tender. Coverage is discontinued.
