This Scope of Services describes and defines the Construction Engineering and Inspection (CEI) services which are required for monitoring, inspection, and materials sampling and testing for the Project. Construction of approximately 12.5 miles of paved and unpaved multi-use trail, including the installation of underground utilities, drainage structures, pedestrian crossings, bridges and architectural features. Construction is anticipated to proceed in multiple segments with separate, but overlapping, durations. The Consultant shall exercise independent professional judgment in performing the obligations and responsibilities under this Agreement. The Consultant shall designate a Project Engineer/Administrator/Manager who shall be tasked with monitoring the overall compliance of the Contractor with the Construction Project Plans and Specifications including, but not limited to, the verification testing requirements as set forth in the Specifications, and daily field inspection of the Construction Project. The services for this Agreement shall begin upon Consultant's receipt of written notice to proceed by the County. For estimating purposes, the Consultant will be allowed fifteen (15) calendar days to perform preliminary administrative services prior to the issuance of the notice to proceed and twenty (20) calendar days to demobilize after project final acceptance.
