Renovation of a laboratory facility in San Marcos, Texas. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 11,071-square-foot laboratory facility.
**As of 08/2/2021, the project has been awarded but award amount was not confirmed and also the construction start date and completion date.** The proposed Infrastructure Research Laboratory (IRL) is a 11,071 (GSF) facility planned to allow large-scale testing of structural systems and components. Construction will be performed on the Texas State University STAR Park Campus in San Marcos, Texas. Exterior construction will include grading and drainage improvement, utility extensions, a roadway, site paving, and landscaping. The construction of the IRL Laboratory will include extensive building excavation, drilled concrete piers, and mass concrete installation of a basement floor and walls, strong floor, and strong wall. Installation of a pre-engineered metal building, a bridge crane, hydraulic pump system, processed chilled water system, building HVAC systems, plumbing and electrical systems, and communication systems.
