Bids are for furnishing all labor, materials, equipment, and performance of work for the installation of a sewer valve vault near the Town's existing Oak Street Sewer Pump Station and completing inspection for repairs to the existing Oak Street Sewer Pump Station. Due to long lead time, the Town has purchased and will provide the Sewer Valve to the Contractor. The plans and specifications are intended to cover a complete project and it shall be thoroughly understood that a failure to mention specifically any work which would naturally be required to complete the project shall not relieve the Contractor of his responsibility to perform the work. All BIDS shall remain open for ninety (90) days. Project construction estimated cost of $280,000.00. A five percent (5%) Bid Bond or certified cashier's check must accompany all Bids. Prospective Bidders are advised that the contract awarded under this Advertisement for Bids is to be funded by Maryland Community Development Block Grant (CDBG). Neither the United States nor any of its departments, agencies, or employees is or will be a party to this Advertisement for Bids or any resulting contract. Bidders on this work will be required to comply with the President's Executive Order No. 11246, which prohibit discrimination in employment regarding race, creed, color, sex, or national origin. Bidders must comply with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Davis-Bacon Act, the Anti-Kickback Act and the Contract Work Hours Standards Act. The Town of Oakland reserves the right to waive any informality in the Bid and to reject any or all Bids.
