Cutler Elementary School consists of the construction of approximately 75,300 square feet of a new elementary school building, as well as the abatement and demolition of the existing Cutler Middle School building. The classrooms are located in a three-story building. There is a connector between the multi-story classroom building and the Admin/Assembly one-story building. The project includes the construction of a cafeteria, media center, new kitchen/servery and full-size gymnasium. Major sitework consists of all new underground utility services, parking lots and drives and the construction of one playing field. Also required is the installation of geopiers to provide soil stability. Work is scheduled to start Spring 2020 and be complete early Summer 2021. This project is being performed under the Construction Management form of construction. With respect to this project, the Construction Manager is the representative of the Owner. The Owner shall approve the award of all trade contracts. Each Trade Contractor's contract shall be with the Construction Manager. The Owner, Town of Groton, has contracted with O&G Industries to serve as the Construction Manager (CM). No oral, telephone or telegraphic proposals will be considered. All bids shall stand available for acceptance for a period of ninety (90) days from the date proposals are received. No bid shall be accepted from any person/company who is in arrears to the Owner upon debt, or contract, or who is a defaulter as surety or otherwise upon obligations to the Owner.
