Sealed Proposals for the Following Work in the Manner and on the Date Hereinafter Specified for the Furnishing of All Labor, Materials, Supplies, Tools, Appliances, Equipment, Services, Etc., Necessary for the Construction of Project: Caer Lab #1 - Chiller Replacement, as Set Forth in the Specifications and as Shown on the Drawings for as Prepared by Uk- Planning, Design and Construction Services and Approved by the Construction Procurement Section and Under the Terms and Conditions of This Invitation. The Existing Chiller, Chilled Water Pumps, Condenser Pumps, and Cooling Tower Located in the Main Mechanical Room and Roof Will Be Replaced in This Project Over the Course of Two Phases. During Phase 1 the Existing Chilled Water System Will Remain Operational. First the Existing Retaining Walls Located Where the Existing Liquid Nitrogen Tank is Will Be Demolished to Make Room for the New Air Cooled Chillers. The Existing Liquid Nitrogen Storage Tank Will Be Relocated to Make Room for the Installation of the New Chillers. 2 New Chillers and All Associated Piping, Pumps and Electrical Connections Will Be Installed to Conclude Phase 1. Phase 2 Will Begin With the Demolition of the Existing Chiller, Chilled Water Pumps, Chilled Water Piping, Cooling Tower, Condenser Pumps and Condenser Piping. Once the Existing System Has Been Demolished New Connections Will Be Made With the Piping and Equipment Installed in Phase 1 to the Existing Chilled Water Infrastructure Serving the Building's Chilled Water Air Handling Units. Method of Receiving Bids Bids Will Be Received From Prime Contractors on a Lump Sum Amount for the Total Project. All Phases of the Work Shall Be Bid to and Through the Prime Contractors. Bids Shall Be Submitted in the Manner Herein Described and on the Official Proposal Form Included With the Conditions and Specifications and Shall Be Subject to All the Conditions as Set Forth and Described in the Bid Documents. Bids Shall Be Submitted Only on the Official Forms Supplied by the University of Kentucky, Construction Procurement Section. Failure to Comply With the Foregoing Requirements Will Be Cause for Invalidation of Bid. Method of Award Final Award of Contract Will Be Made on the Basis of the Lowest, Responsive and Responsible Bid Which Offers the Best Value. Schedule of Project the Time for Substantial Completion for All Phases Shall Be 150 Calendar Days and Final Completion Shall Be 30 Days Thereafter. Substantial Completion Will Include All Site Restoration Completed, Site Clean-up and Fully Functional All Bids Shall Be Accompanied by a Bid Guarantee of Not Less Than Five (5%) Percent of the Amount of the Base Bid. A 100% Performance Bond and 100% Payment Bond Shall Be Furnished by the Successful Bidder.
