Site work and new construction of a mixed-use development in Berkeley, California. Working plans call for the construction of a 380,000-square-foot data center facility; educational facility; and warehouse / distribution facility.

The Gateway project will be located on the north side of campus on Hearst Ave at Arch Street. The project consists of an approximately 380,000 gross square feet new building, and includes offices, workspaces, meeting spaces, collaboration spaces, damp labs, robotics labs, drone lab, gallery spaces, assembly spaces, classrooms, study spaces, recording studio, bicycle storage/showers, event space, catering kitchen, and a caf . The project will include demolition of existing foundations from the previous Tolman Hall, new utility connections, a lower underground level, as well as exterior sitework, courtyards, and landscaping. The CM/Contractor will be required to include design-build packages for Shoring, Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Protection, Exterior Skin/Fa ade, and Exterior Building Maintenance. The project is required to achieve Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEEDTM) Silver Certification, a requirement of the UC Policy on Sustainable Practices. The proposed project will strive for LEED Gold or Platinum. Contractor required documentation for LEED is part of the scope of the project. The project is considering pursuing WELL certification.
