Site work for a mixed-use development in Saint-Hubert, Quebec. Conceptual plans call for site work for a transportation facility; and road / highway.
Construction of a tramway transit line linking the Longueuil downtown with the Panama light-rail station and the Cégep Édouard-Montpetit. The tramway line will pass through the South Shore with a potential of residential development of up to 30,000 housing units with an area of over 19 million square feet. The tramway line may be extended to connect Longueuil, Brossard, La Prairie and maybe Boucherville. TIMELINE: Project is in a preliminary stage. The Caisse de depot et placement du Quebec, CDPQ Infra has completed a preliminary study including an "optimal solution for a structuring mobility project for the South Shore of Montreal”. In mid-2021 the concept of the electric tramway project, named the East-West Electric Link (LÉEO) in Longueuil, received the Award of Excellence from the Canadian Institute of Urban Planners (ICU). However, the project is still only at an early conceptual stage and may be supplanted by the Réseau express métropolitain (REM), whose route risks encroaching on that planned for LÉEO. Scope of work, timelines of realization and project value are not determined at this time. ** Note: The proposed tramway link is called LÉEO — a French acronym for electric east-west link. **
