**As of April 30, 2020. Project has been awarded. Bid amount received $4,415,147.74. The construction of approximately 1.069 miles of new 3-lane roadway with open shoulders, with dirt work and drainage crossings to accommodate future widening to a 5-lane roadway. All other related items of work required to complete the project are as shown and specified in the Contract Documents. The above general outline of features of the work does not in any way limit the responsibility of the contractor to perform all work and furnish all plant, labor, equipment and materials required by the specifications and the drawings referred to therein. The attention of bidders is directed to the Contract Provisions governing selection and employment of labor. The Board of Supervisors of DeSoto County hereby notifies all Bidders that it will affirmatively insure that in any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, disadvantaged and women's business enterprises will be afforded the full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, or national origin in consideration for an award. Bidders are to include their Certificate of Responsibility number on the outside of the envelope when applicable. In accordance with Miss. Code Ann. Section 31-3-21(3), preference shall be given to resident contractors. Nonresident contractors submitting a bid shall attach thereto a copy of his resident state's current preference law, if any, pertaining to such state's treatment of nonresident contractors. Each bid shall be accompanied by a Cashier's Check, Certified Check on a solvent bank or a Bidder's Bond issued by a Surety Company licensed to operate in the State of Mississippi, in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total bid price, payable to DeSoto County as bid security. Bidders shall also submit a current financial statement, if requested by the County. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a Performance Bond and a Payment Bond each in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract amount.
