Allen County - CE Services for Bluffton Road Bridge #257 over the Harber Ditch in Fort Wayne District. This Request for Proposals (RFP) is official notification of needed professional services. This RFP is being issued to solicit a letter of Interest (LOI) and other documents from firms qualified to perform engineering work on federal aid projects. A submittal does not guarantee the firm will be contracted to perform any services but only serves notice the firm desires to be considered. Contact for Questions: Bill Hartman, Allen County Highway Director 200 E Berry Street, Suite 280 Fort Wayne, IN 46802 Phn: (260) 449-3648 Email: Bill.Hartman@co.allen.in.us Project Location: Bluffton Road Bridge #257 over the Harber Ditch, immediately south of the Bluffton Road-Winters Road intersection and southeast of the Fort Wayne International Airport Allen County is seeking a consultant to provide construction engineering and inspection services necessary for the removal of an existing single-span steel beam bridge and construction of a new three-span reinforced concrete slab replacement bridge. Proposed typical roadway section will consist of two 12'-0" paved travel lanes with 11'-0" useable shoulders (10'- 0" paved). It is also anticipated that reconstruction of the intersection immediately to the north will be necessary due to its proximity to the new bridge. Topographic survey and geotechnical study will be needed, as will coordination with the overhead and underground utilities to determine if they are in conflict with the proposed construction, including approach guardrail post driving.
