Remodeling and renovation of an educational facility in West Valley City, Utah. Completed plans call for the remodel of a educational facility; and for the renovation of a educational facility.
**As of 5/19/2020 Pioneer was awarded to OGI contractors, no amount given. **As of 5/19/2020 Frost the bids were canceled and was put on a hold and may be put out to bid again in June or July. 1) Granite School District is requesting the services of a general contractor to perform a security upgrade to Frost and Pioneer Elementary Schools. This includes items such as: a. New storefront, security doors, card access, and security access wire pulled to each of the existing exterior doors. b. Interior remodel of the front office area, principal's office and other areas. c. New lighting, carpeting, and millwork. d. Small addition to Frost 2) Please see the Supplemental General Conditions for the construction dates, penalties, and liquidated damages. 3) Frost has a budget of $750,000 while Pioneer has a budget of $500,000. 4) In order to bid this project, please include with your bid a list of at least three (3) schools your company has remodeled or built that are within 15% of this estimate and similar in scope. 5) Each project can be bid separately or together. However, each project will be treated as a separate project with its one full time site superintendent. 6) The successful contractor(s) will be required to pass a background check which will allow for a security badge and additional access. The badge costs $40.00 payable by exact cash or a VISA or Master Card in the name of the site superintendent. Only the site superintendent and project manager will be required to acquire a badge. 7) All questions must be submitted via the Utah Public Procurement Place. Bidder must hold current Utah General Contractor License. Questions Must Be Submitted Through the Utah Public Procurement Place Online portal. General Specifications for security remodels at frost and pioneer elementary schools. Bidders must meet or exceed all specifications and requirements as set forth in this document, the technical specifications, the project manual and the drawings. Amendments to invitation for bid Any changes in quantity, specifications, schedules, opening date, corrections, clarifications, etc. Will be in the form of an addendum. Addendums will be posted at the utah public procurement place. It is the responsibility of the bidder to obtain addendums and any other information posted on the utah public procurement place. Bid submittal constitutes implied acknowledgment of all addendums. Bid security Bidders will be required to provide bid security in an amount equal to at least 5% of the bid, at the time the bid is submitted, if the total bid amount is $50,000 or greater. Acceptable bid security shall be limited to: (a) a bid bond underwritten by a company licensed to issue bid bonds in this state and listed in the u.S. Department of the treasury circular 570 (b) a cashier's, certified, or official check drawn by a federally insured financial institution made payable to the gsd board of education; or (c) cash. The bid bond, check or cash of the accepted bidder shall be forfeited in the event said bidder fails or refuses to enter into a contract and/or fails to furnish the additional bonds required herein. Checks submitted in lieu of bid bonds from unsuccessful bidders will be returned upon request. The bid bond may be scanned and uploaded with an electronic bid, submitted by fax (385-646-4209) or delivered To the gsd purchasing department. If submitted by fax or delivered to the purchasing department, the bid number must be clearly indicated and it must be received prior to the bid due date and time. Gsd makes no guarantee of fax availability at any given time. If submitting a certified check, it must be delivered to the gsd purchasing department prior to the bid due date and time. Copies of a certified check are not acceptable. The successful bidder must present the original bid bond (if an electronic copy was submitted with the bid) before a purchase order will be issued. Bonds Performance and payment bonds will be required for any job $50,000 or greater. Contractors will be considered late and will not be allowed to attend the meeting if they arrive after the attendance roll has been signed by all in attendance and the doors to the room are closed. This project timeline has been extended due to the public health crisis.
