Description

Site work for a bridge / tunnel in Castor, Alberta. Completed plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel.

Work shall include the construction of a new Type “SL” concrete girder bridge on a steel substructure over the Castor Creek, located 25 km northeast of Castor (SW 36-38-13-4). The Contractor shall construct the three-span (6 m – 10 m – 6 m) Type SL concrete girder bridge as per the Drawings and applicable sections of the Standard Specifications for Bridge Construction. The new bridge will be installed on 30-degree LHF skew to the local road, centered at Station 5 + 550.500 with an 8.94 m clear roadway width. The Scope of the Work includes, but is not limited to, the following: Traffic accommodation Demolition and disposal of existing bridge structure Site isolation, turbidity monitoring and fish capture and release Structural excavation Supply, drill rig setup and install steel H-piles Supply and place pile concrete Abutment and pier construction including small bridge plaques Supply, deliver and install precast concrete girders Heavy rock riprap erosion protection Roadway work Supply and install bridgerail and guardrail including delineator guide posts Permanent environmental protection devices
