Site work and new construction of a mixed-use development in Sturgeon County, Alberta. Conceptual plans call for the construction of a 131,857-square-foot, three-story above grade fitness / recreation center; and swimming pool.
Construction of a new recreation centre to include an aquatics facility, gym and fitness facility, as well as a single indoor ice sheet. The site is located west of Ray Gibbon Drive, on a parcel of land donated by Rohit Land Development (located at the northern edge of Cherot Neighbourhood). Outdoor amenities will include pickleball and tennis courts, a spray park that converts into a skating rink in the winter months, and a bike skills park. Site address is 500 Cherot Blvd. TIMELINE: A schematic design report has been completed to date. An RFP for Prime Consulting services is currently underway; scope of work to include completion of schematic design. Detailed planning and design work may proceed in 2027; construction is not expected prior to 2029. Further update may be available spring 2026.
