Site work for a water / sewer project in Whittier, California. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.

The construction of CAMERON TRUNK SEWER SECTIONS 1, 2, & 3 REHABILITATION, the project begins at the intersection of Merced Avenue and Sunset Avenue, then continues southeasterly on Merced Avenue, then northerly on Glendora Avenue, then easterly on Cameron Avenue, then northerly on Fernwood Street, then easterly on Mobeck Street, then northerly on Azusa Avenue, then easterly on Walnut Creek Parkway, and ends at the intersection of Walnut Creek Parkway and Citrus Street, all within the City of West Covina, California. The work consists of the rehabilitation of approximately 21,157 feet of 8-, 12-, 15-, 18-inch non-reinforced concrete pipe (NRCP) and 15- and 21-inch reinforced concrete pipe (RCP) with cured-in-place pipe (CIPP) liner. The project also includes the rehabilitation of seventy-seven (77) manholes with a protective coating system, and all appurtenant work. Bids are to be prepared in accordance with the Proposal Form, Special Provisions, Exhibits, Standard Specifications for Public Works Construction, 2018 Edition, complete with Los Angeles County Sanitation Districts Amendments to the Standard Specifications for Public Works Construction, 2018 Edition, and any addenda issued by the District (collectively, the "Bid Documents"), which are on file in the Office of the Chief Engineer of the District, 1955 Workman Mill Road, Whittier, California, 90601. Each bid must be on a Proposal Form obtained and downloaded from the links provided above and must be accompanied by a certified check, cashier check, or bond with an approved surety company as surety, payable to Los Angeles County Sanitation District No. 22 or other authorized security provided by Public Contract Code, for an amount equal to at least ten percent of the amount bid as a guaranty that the bidder, if successful, will enter into a contract satisfactory to the Board of Directors for completing the work contemplated. The successful bidder must file good and sufficient bonds for the faithful performance of the contract and for the payment of laborers and materialmen. Bonds for the faithful performance of the contract and for the payment of laborers and materialmen that are issued by sureties that are listed in the latest version of the U.S. Department of Treasury Circular 570 and that are authorized to issue bonds in the State of California, and whose bonding limitation shown in the circular is sufficient to provide bonds in the amount of the contract, will be deemed approved unless specifically rejected. The Contractor shall be the beneficial owner of any security substituted for monies withheld and shall receive any interest thereon. The bids will be referred to the Board of Directors at the meeting of the Board to be held at the Office of the Chief Engineer of the District, 1955 Workman Mill Road, Whittier, California, 90601, on May 27, 2020 beginning at 1:30 p.m. The Board of Directors may award the contract for the above described work, either at the meeting of the Board of Directors to be held at the above-stated address, on May 27, 2020 beginning at 1:30 p.m., or at any other meeting of the Board of Directors within 60 days after the date listed above for receipt of bids. The Board of Directors may reject all bids. Unless all bids are rejected, award will be made to the low, responsive, responsible bidder. The work of construction must be completed within 240 WORKING DAYS after the date in the Notice to Proceed. Bidders on this work will be required to comply with the President's Executive Order No. 11246. Pursuant to applicable provisions of the Labor Code of the State of California, not less than the general prevailing rate of per diem wages and not less than the general prevailing rate of per diem wages for legal holiday and overtime work for each craft or type of workman needed to execute the work contemplated under the agreement, as ascertained by the Director of the Department of Industrial Relations, must be paid to all workers employed on the work by the Contractor or by any subcontractor doing or contracting to do any part of the work. *This project timeline has been extended due to the public health crisis.
