This project requires coordination of access with the Owner's Authorized Representative. The Base Bid work will be the cast-in-place reinforced concrete retaining walls located adjacent to the existing spillway including a new gravel access road. The Base Bid work contains approximately 65 cubic yards of reinforced concrete for retaining walls, approximately 9,181 pounds of grade 60 reinforcing steel for retaining walls, 1,200 square feet of Armorflex Concrete Block (ACB) Mat, approximately 20 cubic yards of unreinforced concrete associated with the ACB Mat, approximately 200 cubic yards of soil backfill, approximately 135 square yards of geotextile fabric, approximately 0.25 acres of seed, mulch and fertilizer, approximately 400 feet of Turbidity Curtain, 1 temporary lump sum Cofferdam, 2 Temporary Construction Entrances, approximately 2,460 feet of temporary silt fence, approximately 1,600 feet of temporary tree protection fencing, approximately 120 feet of gravel access road, approximately 40 feet of 15-inch Class IV Reinforced Concrete Pipe and 3 temporary rock silt check dams. A Bid Bond is required in the amount of 5% of the Bid Proposal. The successful Bidder, upon award of Contract, shall furnish a Performance Bond in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract price. The successful Bidder, upon award of Contract, shall furnish a Payment Bond in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract price. All questions concerning the plans and specifications should be directed to the Licensed Professional who prepared said documents. Contract time: 120 consecutive days (review Sec. 008000 Suppl. Gen. Cond., Art. 1 Definitions) The Owner, Orange County, North Carolina reserves the right to reject any or all Bids and to waive informalities and irregularities.
