Renovation of a power facility in Breckenridge, Minnesota. Completed plans call for the renovation of a power facility.
**As of June 2,, 2020, project has been awarded but award amount was not confirmed. All bids must be sealed and clearly labeled as: Twito Substation Circuit A Upgrade, City Project No. 312-20. If you are interested in attending, please contact Neil Crocker, Director of Public Services, for additional information at (218) 643-4681 or via email at ncrocker@breckenridgemn.net. The work to be completed on the project will primarily consist of directional boring and pulling in innerduct. The linear footage required to be bored will be approximately 22,000ft. The innerduct to be pulled in will be approximately 60,000ft. Staking sheets will be sent electronically to any bidder upon request. The competent/qualified Contractor will be required to have all the appropriate equipment and staff to be able to complete all work. Breckenridge Public Utilities ("BPU") staff will be providing direction and oversite. BPU will provide all required materials to be buried including the innerduct; however, BPU does not possess the innerduct trailer required to hold and payout innerduct. This trailer will need to be provided by the contractor. Some pulls will require up to 8 ea of 2" innerduct which will require multiple bores in those locations. The work will tentatively begin around the end of May and will continue until completed or freeze up if necessary or may carry over into 2021. Contractor responsibilities: o All utility locates o Complete all required boring o Pulling in the innerduct o Provide innerduct trailer (needs to be able to handle minimum of 4 ducts) o Setting basements for the transformers, junction boxes and switches (approx. 70) - NOTE: BPU personnel to work with contractor on this. o Cutting and removing concrete or asphalt if needed (should be minimal) o All pit excavations o Pit restoration with good quality black dirt to level grade with slight crown to allow for settling. BPU responsibilities: o Staking of the proposed route o Provide the innerduct o Providing notice to the city residents o Assist in setting of required basements o Repair or replacement of any asphalt or concrete that has been removed by contractor o Seeding excavation areas Plans may require slight altering and certain lengths of boring and innerduct may change slightly during the project, therefore; all bids are to be based on a "per linear foot bored". Each bid must be accompanied by a Bid Bond payable to the City of Breckenridge, Minnesota in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total bid. This is to serve as a guarantee that the bidder will enter into a contract for the performance of such work if the Contract is awarded to them. Only bids that are accompanied by such bond in the envelope will be considered. The Contract awarded to the lowest responsible bidder shall be on the form required by the City. A copy of the required Contract form, including insurance and performance and payment bond requirements, may be requested by bidders from the City Administrator. The City of Breckenridge reserves the right to reject any and all bids. Please direct any questions regarding this bid to: Neil Crocker Director of Public Services ncrocker@breckenridgemn.net 701-640-0133 Mobile 218-643-4681
