This RFP is being issued to solicit a letter of Interest (LOI) and other documents from firms qualified to perform engineering work on federal aid projects. Contact for Questions: Bill Hartman, Allen County Highway Director 200 E Berry Street, Suite 280 Fort Wayne, IN 46802 Phn: (260) 449-3648 Email: Bill.Hartman@co.allen.in.us Project Location: Amber Road Bridge #226 over the Little River at the intersection of Amber Road and Branning Road in southwest Allen County Allen County is seeking a consultant to provide preliminary engineering, right-of-way acquisition services, and construction inspection services necessary to replace an existing single-span bridge with a new continuous three-span concrete slab bridge. To alleviate the severe 90-degree intersection at the south end of the existing bridge, the new structure will be on a horizontal curve with a super-elevated cross-section designed to minimize the required radius and minimize potential sliding during wet or icy conditions. The proposed roadway includes two 12-foot lanes and 6-foot shoulders, but with 36 feet clear roadway width across the bridge to accommodate farm equipment.
