Site work for an educational facility in Harvey, Illinois. Completed plans call for site work for a educational facility.
All proposals or bids offered must be accompanied by a bid bond, in a form acceptable to the School Board, in the amount of not less than five percent (5%) of the total amount of the proposal as a guarantee that if the proposal is accepted, a contract shall be entered into and the performance of the contract is properly secured. Bids shall be uploaded to District 151's directory on a secure FTP site prior to the date and time listed above. It is important that bidders indicate to the Architect their company's intent to submit a bid 24 hours before the virtual bid opening so that a secure directory can be created for the bidder. Indication of the bidder's intent to bid should be acknowledged through the Procore invitation. No bid shall be withdrawn after the opening of the bids without the consent of School District 151 for a period of sixty (60) days after the scheduled time of closing bids. APPLICABLE REQUIREMENTS All employees of the Contractor or Subcontractor(s) on construction work for this Project shall be paid wages at rates not less than those prevailing on similar construction in the locality as determined by the Department of Labor in accordance with the applicable provisions of the "Wages of Employees on Public Works Act" (Prevailing Wage Act, Illinois Rev. Stat., 820 ILCS 130/1 et. seq.) and with all applicable provisions of the "Illinois' Preference Act", 30 ILCS 570/.01 et. seq. The successful Bidder of the construction of the improvement will be required to file a performance and payment bond equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the contract, with sureties to be approved by the Architect, which performance bonds shall be conditioned upon proper and faithful performance by the Contractor of the work specified in accordance with the plans and specifications therefore, according to the time and terms and conditions of the contract: and also that the successful Bidder, now the Contractor, shall properly pay all debts incurred by the Contractor in the execution of the work, including those for labor and material furnished for himself and all of his subcontractors. The bonding company shall have a minimum rating of "A- IX" in accordance with Best's Key Rating Guide - Latest Edition. The Contractor shall be required to furnish sufficient insurance to School District 151 against any and all claims which might arise for damages to persons or property due to the negligence of the Contractor or Subcontractors, or their officers, agents, employees or servants, during the construction of said improvement and until the said improvement has been finally accepted as complete by the School District 151. The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all proposals or bids SCOPE OF WORK This project titled "TAFT ELEMENTARY SITE IMPROVEMENTS” consist of the following major elements: Sitework including earthwork, grading, sidewalks, curbs, and restoration; Site storm utilities; Installation of New Playground Equipment; New Play Surface; New asphalt paving; Demolition; All other work indicated on the drawings and in the project manual for this project. All work on this project will be awarded to multiple prime contractors.
