Paving for a road / highway in Topeka, Kansas. Design plans call for paving for a road / highway.
The SW Fairlawn project will rehabilitate the stretch of SW Fairlawn from 23rd to 28th Street. The plan is to rehabilitate the existing lanes of SW Fairlawn between 23rd and 28th. This project is funded with a combination of citywide half cent sales tax and general obligation bonds. The citywide funding will be used to replace existing pavement and the general obligation bond funding will be used for road widening and signals. Stormwater improvements will be made and funded as a separate CIP project for utilities. This project is in included in the City of Topeka FY 2024-2033 Capital Improvement Plan (CIP). As of March 8, 2024, information regarding a design firm and the general contractor selection timeline has not been disclosed. Construction is estimated to take place in 2025. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly.
