Saving Project...

Renovation of a medical facility in Saint-Georges, Quebec. Design plans call for the renovation of a 9,418-square-foot, three-story above grade medical facility.

The project to be carried out is mainly to occupy the vacant space located on the 2nd floor of the Monastery wing, formerly occupied by the Catherine de Longpre palliative care home. The Hematology-Oncology unit will occupy this space. The departments of Geriatric Outpatient Services (SAG) and part of the Computer Resources Department (DRI) will be remodeled. The DRI will be moved mainly to the 3rd floor of the Monastery wing. The Hemato-Oncology unit currently located on the ground floor is planned to be moved to the 2nd floor of the Monastery wing in order for it to be set back from the other units, to allow direct access with independent entrance and parking at proximity. There are plans for a complete reorganization as well as an almost complete modernization of the unit, including the relocation of its dedicated satellite pharmacy. The area of these premises is approximately 600 m2. The Geriatric Ambulatory Services (AGS) unit currently located on the 2nd floor of the Monastery wing will be relocated to part of the 3rd floor of the Monastery wing. This redevelopment will allow easier access for customers from the entrance and the parking lot. The area of these premises is approximately 175 m2. With regard to the Information Resources Department (DRI) unit currently occupying part of the 2nd and 3rd floor of the Monastery wing, it is planned to redevelop only part of its team (Workshop and professional/technician positions maintained ) in some portion of the Monastery wing 3rd floor. This move will only allow the withdrawal of other units but ease of movement and being close to the servers. The area of these premises is approximately 100 m2. TIMELINE: Architects and engineers to complete design have been awarded following request for proposals # 2022SPR011. Project will be developed in phases. Timeline for tender for general contractor has not been finalized yet. Construction is to be completed by August, 2024. The Functional and Technical Program (PFT) was carried out in 2020 as well as the Clinical and Real Estate Action Plan (PACI) carried out in 2018.
